A mediados de la década de los 40, Krishna Venta (cuyo verdadero nombre era Francis Pencovic) irrumpió USA. Mezclaba las enseñanzas del hinduismo y el cristianismo, haciendo énfasis en los conceptos de la meditación, reencarnación y el fin de los tiempos.
Según este ex convicto, debía reunir a 144 mil seguidores para ponerse a salvo en un valle secreto ante una guerra racial que se llevaría a cabo en USA, en donde los afroamericanos saldrían vencedores. Esta supuesta guerra racial debilitaría tanto al país, hasta el punto que Rusia podría conquistarlo.
Luego de la conquista rusa, Venta y sus seguidores emergerían de su escondite para vencer a los rusos y hacerse con el control de USA. Krishna Venta organizó su secta que sería conocida como “la fuente” y la estableció en Box Canyon, California.
En ese lugar controlaba a sus seguidores en todos los aspectos de la vida cotidiana, además los explotaba económicamente y laboralmente. En 1958, 2 miembros que escaparon de la secta totalmente desencantados, sospechaban que el líder mantenía intimidad con todas las mujeres del culto. Por lo que tomaron justicia por mano propia.
El 10 de diciembre de 1958 compraron 20 cartuchos de dinamita y detonadores para luego acercarse al complejo de la secta. Ahí se encontraron cara a cara con Venta, con quien empezarían una acalorada discusión y al poco tiempo una brutal explosión se escuchó por todo el complejo.
Krishna Venta de 47 años, había encontrado su final. 10 años después del asesinato de Venta, el complejo de la secta recibió la visita de Charles Manson, quien residió en el lugar por varios meses. Finalmente, Manson sería expulsado, pero resulta evidente que recibió información sobre las enseñanzas de Venta, lo que finalmente desembocaría en la infame doctrina de la familia Manson conocida como “Helter Skelter”, que estremecería al mundo en 1969 con los homicidios Tate – LaBianca.
