  1. Joseph j Piga has exactly zero Google results, and the watch in question is one of thousands like it. This particular one happens to be missing a screw for the ratchet wheel, but otherwise appears to be in great condition. It is a good model, undoubtedly, with a jeweled main barrel arbor and adjusted to 5 positions it could likely still keep great time after a “simple” cleaning and lubrication type of service.

However, I’d say if it sells in even the 4 digits then some Russian oligarch is making a donation not a purchase. It should be low 3 digits or even 2.

  2. The one on that listing is solid 14 Karat gold. All the ones that people are buying/selling for $50-$100 are gold filled or gold plated.
However, a solid gold one is worth closer to $2000-$3000, not $37,000.

Someone can list something for whatever price they want, it doesn’t mean that it’s actually worth that— people see eBay listings for their item all the time, and go “WOW MY WATCH IS WORTH A BAJILLION DOLLARS!!” but if you look at “sold” listings only it’s usually worth several hundred dollars less.

Since that website is in Spanish I wonder if it’s listed in pesos or something. The other day a guy here was asking why a watch that normally costs $30,000 was listed for $300. Turned out to be a currency conversion issue.

  3. Yeah dude that’s a Mexican website in Mexican pesos. $38,000 MXN= $2100 USD lmao. It’s a totally fair for this watch in this good condition I would say!!
